The Kestrel 4100 Pocket Air Flow Tracker is the HVAC technician's best friend. With a 4100 on hand, facility managers, field installation technicians, and other HVAC specialists will be able to calculate cubic feet per minute (CFM) in seconds. No calculators, no equations – just a pocket-sized Kestrel 4100 Air Flow Tracker. Simply enter the duct shape and dimensions into your Kestrel Meter, hold the 4100 near the duct, and the volume air flow is calculated automatically.

Your Kestrel 4100 also has the data tracking capabilities of all the weather meters in the 4000 series, as well as charting and computer interface functions. Few tools on the market will save you as much time (and paperwork) as the 4100. Designed specifically for HVAC use, the Kestrel 4100 does not have the full range of weather tracking functions available with the *Kestrel 4200 or the flagship Kestrel 4500.

  • The Kestrel 4100 is equipped with a backlight, making it especially useful for HVAC work on poorly lit work sites.

Uses of the Kestrel 4100 extend far beyond just air flow tracking. Like every Kestrel Meter, the 4100 has accurate wind and temperature tracking functions and is waterproof.

The Kestrel 4100 accurately measures:

  • Wind Chill
  • Air, Water, and Snow Temperature
    • Displayed in Fahrenheit or Celsius w/ accuracy of +/-1°
  • Current, Average, and Maximum Wind Speed
    • Wind Speeds displayed in:  Beaufort Wind Scale; Knots; MPH; KPH; or Feet Per Minute
  • Relative Humidity
  • Dewpoint
  • Heat Stress Index

In addition, the Kestrel 4100 offers:

  • Customizable navigation and data displays
  • Tracking and storage of up to 2000 data points
    • Manual and automatic data storage
    • Graphing
  • Computer interface capability

Good meter - need to ask about possible upgrade

5
Reviewer: Phillip Ross , Columbus, IN Date: September 19, 2007
Really like the way the meter is set-up. However, I did not properly spec it out and have now found that the Kestral meter 4500 was the proper choice. Is it possible to return and re-order better model?

Kestrel Used in Unusual Field

5
Reviewer: Derek W. Bartlett , Massachusetts Date: July 25, 2006
I have to say the Kestrel 4100 meter has been an asset to our team. We are paranormal investigators and need to know what the atmospheric conditions are every 5 minutes. The weather plays a huge role in our field. Before purchasing the Kestrel 4100 I was at a loss for all the accurate information I needed to obtain. Now, with the Kestrel 4100 we get the data we need and more. It is very easy to use and with the light up screen helps us use it in the dark. I have been asked by many colleagues in our field about the unit and have recommended Kestrel to everyone in our field of studies. Keep up the great Job.

The 4100 clears our name!

5
Reviewer: Anonymous , Alaska Date: July 21, 2006
I found the 4100 to be the perfect solution to taking the many measurements we often need. Having CFM w/Deg F or C and %RH in such a small package is great! I recently used the 4100 to demonstrate the air balance had not been done properly, confirming that was the cause of the occupant discomfort, not my control system. My name and reputation was cleared... thank you Kestrel!

Problems

1
Reviewer: Brian M , AZ Date: July 21, 2006
we have several Kestral Meters... when holding them side my side, they all show different RH, Temp, etc. we also got the computer interface, complete waste of money! hard to use with the computer hooked up, difficult to get the software talking to the unit, and the data was just a serial dump! no trending, cute graphics, no screen that shows all the information in a neet, easy to read interface.

Industrial Hygiene User

Reviewer: Anonymous , Washington Date: July 21, 2006
I use my 4100 frequently when conducting air monitoring and sampling. It is very easy to use and gives most of the information I need as an Industrial Hygienist. I would like a way to perform daily functional calibration checks in order to determine accuracy and precision as the reports I prepare are under great technical scrutiny. Also, the computer program I purchased is worthless to me. I expected to be able to prepare easy to read graphs. Overall, it is a fun and useful tool for the price. I would like to note that I sent in my registration card, but never received my promised gift . . . It's okay, I still recommend Kestrel.
