Our Review of the Kestrel Portable Tripod
Compatible with any Kestrel Meter, the Portable Tripod makes for easy use when out in the field. At a maximum height of 10" and a minimum of 6", it is ultra-compact and folds to just 7.5" and weighs only 4.8 oz. The top clamp detaches and is compatible with any tripod with a standard tripod mount. Comes with a padded carry pouch.

I agree with the Nutnfancy review. The Kestrel Portable Tripod is worth it for just the cradle.

Needed accessory

The Kestrel meter needs to be unaffected by your body temp and wind shadows to be accurate. Therefore this little tripod is a needed accessory. I don't really care for the little tripod itself as neither the pivot points or their legs lock into position making it kind of hokey and easy to knock down. However the attachment brace for your meter is perfect and can be with any other tripod you may have (I recommend using it with the amazing and tough GorillaPod articulated compact tripod). Given the reasonable price and the utility of the meter holder, this accessory is a must have for accurate readings and quick reference.

Could be a little more sturdy and taller say 5 to 6 feet.
