Kestrel 3000

The Kestrel 3000 Pocket Weather Meter is the name of the small instrument that provides astonishing accuracy and certain features that previously were found only in machines the size of a suitcase. You already know that this isn't springtime, so April Fools jokes are out. This thing is the real McCoy.

Complete weather conditions in your pocket! Wind speed, temperature, humidity and heat stress, along with dew-point temperature and windchill, all in one handheld instrument. Unmatched accuracy and convenience, rugged and waterproof.

If you are into weather - and what skier isn't - then you will want to have a look at the Kestrel 3000. This lightweight, palm-sized device measures just about all the weather variables a person would be interested in, including current wind speed, maximum wind speed, average wind speed, temperature, wind chill, relative humidity, dewpoint, and heat stress. It also measures these variables in a variety of common units. I tested some of these for accuracy and found the Kestrel 3000 to within its stated limits - 3% for wind speed and humidity and 1°C for temperature. The temperature and wind chill measurements will be particularly useful for skiers. It's also waterproof and floats so you might find it useful for other activities like sea kayaking and hiking.

Good friends are more precious than diamonds and I'm fortunate in having several good friends. For each of them, I'd like to have a Kestrel 3000 Pocket Weather Meter. This invaluable little tool gives wind-speed, temperature, dewpoint, and humidity in fantastically accurate readings and it's all encased in a protective slip-on cover that measures 4.8

For my money, the Kestrel 3000 looks to be the best deal, and its wide versatility makes it the perfect addition for your outdoor gear or sports bag. If you are looking for that special and unique gift idea for someone who loves the weather or the outdoors in any of a myriad of ways, then I highly recommend you consider purchasing the Kestrel 3000.

Weather Meter

Attention Gizmo freaks! Kestrel has designed a pocket weather meter that measures wind speed, max wind speed, average wind speed, temperature, wind chill, humidity, heat index and dewpoint. Very high-tech. So, next time you're on the summit of a peak freezing your butt off, it will be nice to tell everyone that there were wind gusts of 70 mph, and the wind chill was 13 degrees Fahrenheit in the middle of August.
